Matt Sanchez received his first fly rod at the age of four- a fiberglass Fenwick built by his dad. Growing up in Missouri, he learned to fly fish in the Ozarks. Frequent summer trips to various rivers throughout Colorado eventually prompted Matt to attend college in Colorado. Matt followed his passion and began guiding in 2001. Since then he has had the opportunity help others find success on some of the finest water throughout the state. Matt’s endless patience proves to be invaluable when working with clients, especially beginners. His humor shines and his excitement is infectious- there are no bad days on the river, ever. Matt enjoys helping clients experience "a fish of a lifetime", be it an 8" brookie or 24" bow.
Kelly Damrell was born and raised in Colorado. He grew up with a passion for the outdoors and quickly fell in love with fly-fishing. Kelly has spent countless days on the South Platte River and has mastered just about every fish in the drainage. He is the head bartender at Piccolo restaurant and if you don't find him there serving those delicious drinks, he is probably waist deep in a river somewhere in the mountains. Kelly prides himself on helping others catch fish. He feels rewarded when someone lands the trout of their lifetime. He has a knack for nymphing and loves to teach his roll-casting techniques. Kelly is always finding new water to fish, and is usually seen disappearing into the woods with a pack on his back. He loves to hike and and enjoys spending nights camping out at the top of a mountain near pristine lakes.
Captain Matt Thomas
Capt. Matt has been fishing ever since he was a little guy and in fact, that's all he does. Matt is the definition of living and breathing fishing. He guides in Colorado during the summer and fall, mainly floating the Roaring Fork and Colorado River. He guides in the Florida Keys during the spring and early summer. Matt prides himself in helping others catch fish. He is very soft spoken and provides a great experience on the water. He enjoys spending time on the water with anglers of all types regardless of ability. Capt. Matt spends his free time fishing...that's no surprise to us...and when he's not fishing, he is usually tying his crafty little flies or goose hunting. If you are looking for years of experience and great entertainment, then Capt. Matt Thomas is a sure bet.
